Whether your child is looking for lots of exciting activities, likes to unwind at the end of the school day, or relishes the opportunity to play and socialize with friends, he or she can come “home” afterschool to the Extended Day neighborhood.
On a typical afternoon:
The art studio is open. Children are making masks and sculptures. One group is playing kickball in the gym. Another is cooking dessert in the kitchen. A quiz show game is starting in one room, and storytelling in another. An impromptu video shoot will start in an hour.
Tired after a long day? Children can stretch out on a mat, read a book, listen to music, or just relax.
Extended Day is a free choice environment supervised by a caring, supportive, and dynamic staff. Children can, start their homework, “hang out” with friends, or participate in a variety of activities that cater to a wide range of interests.
Extended Day hours are 3:00-6:15 pm at the Lower School and 3:15-6:30 pm at the Upper School. Friday closing times differ from October-April due to Shabbat.
Parents can register their children for 1-5 days per week, on a yearly or monthly basis.
Children can also participate in the Afterschool Hour, one hour of Extended Day (3:00-4:00 pm Lower School, 3:15-4:15 pm Upper School).
For occasional unexpected circumstances, there is a “drop-in” option.
