We would love to get to know you and to share more with you about what it’s like to work as part of the Schechter community.

Schechter Boston creates a Jewish educational experience where each child, 15 months through eighth grade, will be known, belong, be engaged, be inspired and be prepared. Faculty, staff and students at Schechter benefit from a highly collaborative, mutually supportive environment in which each person’s individual strengths are recognized and cultivated, and are vital to the success and learning of the community as a whole. Individuals who work at Schechter Boston must thrive in a culture that lives every day by the following cultural values:

  • Believing there is no limit to better

Our organizational structure reflects our values

Our organizational structure reflects our values of making educator learning and development at the forefront of what we do. We have two distinct positions, Director of Learning & Teaching and a Director of Student Experience. Jonah Hassenfeld, our Director of Learning & Teaching, focuses on the development of our teachers, and the quality of our instruction, period.

Team Leads

Even with a dedicated Director of Learning & Teaching, it isn’t possible for one person to provide all of our educators with the breadth and depth of feedback and support they need. We have a structure of team leads, who provide a small group of educators with the professional support they need. With this configuration, educators get feedback and support in real time, by someone who is more plugged into their day to day work. It also creates smaller, intentional opportunities for peer-to-peer learning.
