Applying to Schechter

Before you begin, please complete this inquiry form so that we can help guide you through this process. We look forward to connecting with you!

STEP 1

Fill out a Schechter online application
(includes a $100 fee)

STEP 2

Attend an Open House and/or schedule a personal tour

STEP 3

  • For students entering Kindergarten through Grade 8, print the Records of Release Form and bring it to the main office at your child’s school; this form allows and prompts your child’s school to send your child’s current transcript and academic records directly to Schechter
  • For students entering Pre-Kindergarten through Grade 8, send a Teacher Evaluation Form/s through SchechterHub to your child’s main teacher/s; the Teacher Evaluation Forms are sent directly back to the Office of Admission

STEP 4

Share IEPs and other testing if applicable

STEP 5

Upload your child’s immunization records to SchechterHub

  • All students ages 5 and older must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19

STEP 6

  • For students entering Kindergarten and Grade 1: A Getting To Know You meetup is scheduled with the Office of Admission
  • For students entering Grades 2-8; a Visit Day is scheduled with the Office of Admission
    • On the Visit Day, students shadow a grade-level Schechter peer and have academic assessments
    • We will conduct a rapid COVID-19 test upon arrival at 7:30 a.m. in order to receive results before the 7:50 a.m. start of school. All visitors must be fully vaccinated.

Once an application for admission has been submitted, families are eligible to apply for Financial Aid through a separate process.

The admission timeline is as follows:

  • Applications are due on Wednesday, February 1, 2023
  • Admission decisions are shared on Friday, March 10, 2023
  • Enrollments contracts are due on Tuesday, April 4, 2023

Following this timeline, we move to a rolling admission season and can welcome applications as space allows. Please note that the Admission Committee is not able to review partial applications or share financial aid decisions unless both the admission and financial applications are complete including all supporting documents as detailed above. Thank you for your understanding.

We realize that this process may be new to you and involves many details. Schechter prioritizes helping families move through these steps in a smooth, supportive manner. If you have any questions, please let us know. We look forward to hearing from you.
